Astrodeck’s resident skate phenom, Greyson Fletcher, was recently invited to the Thrasher Magazine and Diamond Halloween Bowl Bash.

Astroboy made it to the Finals of the event, so not only did he earn a nice chunk of change for his pockets, but he probably gave some people the creeps with this get-up, too. Yes. Killing two birds with one stone. that’s how Greyson likes it.

Well, the Holiday Season has come upon us. Thanksgiving is just around the corner,  and then we’re smitten with the joyous celebrations of Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanza. (Hey, we’re a very multi-cultural group here at Astrodeck.)

So getting into the holiday spirit of things, the Fletcher’s got together for their yearly Holiday portrait. We just know that Grandma and Grandpa will be delighted when they get the Fletcher Family Christmas card this year…

In Part 2 of The D-Side with Makua Rothman, Oahu’s native son talks about tow in partners and bandmates, the chick conflict, how times have changed since he won the Billabong XXL back in 2002, and his opinion on women surfers. Haha, pretty good stuff. Check back for Part 3 soon.

It’s always family here at Astrodeck, and we consider Bruce Irons part of the family. Bruce has been spending his summer in California, and stopped by to hang out and get caught up with the Fletcher clan. He also got himself some sick Wave Warriors shirts. Seems fitting, considering he’ll be one of the stars in Herbie’s new upcoming Wave Warriors film. Always great seeing ya, Bruce!

Greyson Fletcher is disgusting. Disgustingly rad, that is! Astrodeck’s very own Astroboy has been on a wild tear lately. After getting some nice coverage in Thrasher and Bliss magazines, as well as being featured in the new Lance Mountain-based Banana Board video promotion, Greyson hit the contest circuit with some really great results. Not only did he place 7th at the Malmo Ultra Bowl in Sweden, but he also got 6th at the Converse Coastal Carnage that took place during the U.S. Open in Huntington Beach. Oh, and did we mention that Grey skated with Tony Hawk who has dubbed him as having the best frontside ollie in the biz? Way to go, Grey!

Makua Rothman has always been full of aloha charm, and now it’s resonating into a growing musical career. Taking a cue from the old sounds of Hawaii and blending it with his own modern twist, Makua is making music - and he’s making it sound good as is evident in our D-Side clip here with his song “Sweet Sunshine” playing in the background. Not only can this guy ride the biggest, gnarliest waves, but he can wail on the ukulele, too!
